Edinburgh Festival or Notting Hill Carnival? Why? I'm afraid neither is not an option!

Never been to either so probably talking out of the proverbial however:
Either provides a spectacle and entertainment, although vastly different. I think I would plump for the Edinburgh Festival as having the widest variety and requiring considerably fewer police to keep the punters safe.
